Gospel Music FanFair Heads to Sweet Home Alabama

KENNEDY, AL 02/14/2024 - Wilds & Associates, the promotional company that presents the annual Gospel Music FanFair and whose headquarters are in Kennedy, Alabama, has announced a location change for the 2024 event. “We’re bringing Gospel Music FanFair home to Alabama!” says Wilds & Associates CEO, Randall Wilds.

Gospel Music FanFair held its first event in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2005. In 2009, the event was relocated to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Since 2014, Somerset, Kentucky has hosted the multi-day event. For the 20th anniversary event in 2024, Gospel Music FanFair is moving to the beautiful, historic town of Fayette, Alabama.

The Fayette Civic Center will be the site of the 20th anniversary event. Located in the downtown area with convenient on-site parking, the center features an auditorium with a spacious stage and comfortable theater-style seating. The Center is also home to the Fayette Art Museum, an established regional attraction displaying art by internationally known Fayette native Jimmy Lee Sudduth and other folk and mainstream 20th-century American artists.

Known for its neighborly, southern charm and hospitality, the town of Fayette offers a variety of shops, restaurants, recreation, and other attractions suitable for the entire family. For example, Guthrie State Park features seven baseball/softball fields and two batting cages, a basketball court, four tennis courts, a large playground, a fishing lake, a walking trail, and an RV park. The Fayette Aquatic Center has summer fun for everyone, boasting three giant water slides, a pool with a diving board, a kids play area, a lazy river, a splash pad and splash fountain.

While Fayette does offer some popular national chain restaurants, that “hometown” experience is found in such local favorites as Lisa’s Barbecue, Huatulco Mexican, China Dragon, Sam’s Smokehouse, Hiro Japanese Hibachi Express, Charles’ Cafeteria & Grill, and Backyard Steak & Fish, among others.

“I am so excited about bringing Gospel Music FanFair to my neighborhood! Fayette is the neighboring town just a few miles northeast of Kennedy,” Wilds mentions. “I’m a native of east Tennessee, but this area has been my home since 1989, and I’m so proud to have folks coming from all over the southeast to enjoy this event in my neck of the woods!”

He adds, “Fayette has so much to offer, and I’m grateful that the city has welcomed us with open arms. While Fayette has always welcomed Christian events and concerts, I believe Gospel Music FanFair may be the largest, multi-day event the town has ever hosted. Everyone is invited to enjoy this time of music, fun, and fellowship.”

The 20th Annual Gospel Music FanFair, held May 9-11, 2024, will hold daily worship services, showcases, afternoon matinees, evening concerts, and the 2024 Gospel Music Fan Awards. Artists already confirmed to appear include The Scotts, The Freemans, and The Cupps. Additional artists will be announced as they are confirmed.
